The founder of the world's largest social network, Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg today counts a net value of 74 billion dollars.
According to Bloomberg billionaires' Index, Zuckerberg is the fifth richest person in the world, but it seems he doesn't have a taste for wealth, especially when it comes to cars, clothes and trips.
As a member “Zuckerberg Chan”, which he started with his wife, Priscilla Chan, has cost much of his charity fortune.
In May 2012, eight years after its establishment, Facebook debuted on the New York Stock Exchange, and each year since then, Zuckerberg has increased an average of $9 billion in his net estate.
But even though it's one of the five richest people in the world, Mark is known for his very simple way of life with his family.
Zuckerberg is known for his relatively cheap cars. He's been seen in an Acura TSX, a Hatchback Volczegen and a Fit Honda who are estimated up to or under $30,000.
In May 2011, he bought a $5,000 square metre house, which he bought for $7 million. The following year, he began buying properties surrounding his home, spending more than 30 million dollars to buy four homes with plans to rebuild them.
He also owns a home in the San Francisco Mission District. He purchased the 5,500 square - foot [5,500 sq m] house in 2013 and spent over $1m on renovations, including a greenhouse and kitchen remodeling.
In 2014, he spent $100m on two properties on Kauai Island, the Kah '%aina Plantation, a plantation that had been used in the past for sugar cultivation, 357 hectares, and Pilaæra Beach, a 393 hectares beach, owned by a white sandy beach. Zuckerberg said he and Chan bought the land, because they are “dedicated to preserving its natural beauty”.
