American Embassy: That's what the demarcation issue depends on.

The US Embassy in Kosovo has said renegotiation or not of the Demarketing Agreement depends entirely on the two respective states.

The border demarcation agreement is bilateral agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro. Questions related to renegotiation and arbitration should be addressed to relevant governments”, the Embassy's response to the Journal Express says.

That the demarcation agreement cannot be further discussed was Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli, who said that the border demarcation issue cannot be renegotiated, while Montenegro calls it closed issues.

“The demarcation for Montenegro is a closed issue, there is an agreement that has been signed and ratified in Montenegro's parliament, has been closed and is practically done for them”, Pacolli said yesterday at the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission meeting.

Former European Parliament President Ulrike Lunacek, however, has not left the issue of demarcation to two states.

She has said today that the European Union does not recognise new demarcation agreements until she has asked Kosovo Parliament deputies to vote on the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro so Kosovo citizens can have the right to travel to EU countries without visas.
