Political subject Alliance for New Kosovo (AKR) has cost 1100 euros to a bill located near primary school “Mygeni” in Mitrovica during the election silence.
The electoral panel for Ances and Parashta has fined this amount of AKR for breaking the electoral silence, with the obligation to pay the subject in 15 days' term penalty.
The complaint over this billboard made BIRN and Internews Kosova under the claim to break the election silence.
Panel accepted BIRN and Internnews Kosovo claims as based and found that political subject's action The AKR, in the case of establishing the billboard, violated the Code of Conduct for Political Subjects and Candidates.
More specifically, the panel has described this action as violating the election silence, since the Law for General Elections, Article 36 paragraphs (1), points (b) defines: “24 hours before the opening of the polling Centres for the cast, until their closure, political subjects, supporters or their candidates are barred from campaigning in any way. ”
In response to the complaint, The AKR has claimed that the deployment of the “plant was made unaware of the political subject's partisan structures AKR” However, these claims were not taken into account by PZAP.
BIRN and Internews Kosova have observed the entire pre-election and electoral process, while only for breaking election silence are stored nearby PZAP 28 complaints.
Political subjects from complaints at BIRN's PZAP and Internews Kosovo have been fined 98 thousand euros.
