In 45 municipalities in Macedonia, there will be no need for a run-off because there has been a vote of over 50 per cent, for any of the candidates in the respective municipalities, while in another 35, the winner will be placed in the second round to be held on October 29th.

In the first round were mayors of the municipalities in Aerodrom, Harachine, Berovo, Manastir, Bogdanc, Bosillo, Vallandovo, Vasilev, Vevcan, Veles, Gevgeli, Gjorce Petrov, Delcheva, Demir Hisar, Dojran, Zelenovo, Ilinovo, Karpove, Kocevo, Kocan, Creto, Kriva Palka, Krivoshta, Crushevo, Crushovo, Covovo, Mavorove, Mavrovesevo, Sevo-Rokto, Sevo, Sevorechövjet, Shevèrecèrechherce, Pèreca, Pèce, Crecèrcherce, Crechherce, Stoperca, Srpezpurce, Srpezpur, Spencher, Spencher, Spencherca, Spur, Spence, Spence, Spencher, Spencher, Spence, Spence, Spence, Spence, Spencher, Spen

The second round will be in Bogovinje, Brvenice, Bultel, Vignica, Vrarchish, Gazi Baba, Gostivar, Gradko, Demir Kapi, Probistip, Rosoman, Doline, Zhelen, Zernovac, Yegunoc, Kavadar, Karbinci, Kisela, Likov, Makedonska Kamcea, Makedon Brodski, Mogill, Novaci, Saraj, Stargor Nagor, Strucana, Tecana, Tetovoan, Tekka, Tetovo, Chiskore, Chiskore, Cheskorek, Cachela and Shke Ori.

The LSDM in the first round won 37th municipalities, V MRO- DPMNE 3, DUI 2 and Democratic Turkish Party 1, reports AlsatM.

The LSDM and VMRO will compete in the second round in 19 municipalities, DUI and the Alliance for Albanians will compete at 5, DUI and the EUSA in 7, in 1 DUI-LSDM municipality, 1 LSDM and the Roma League, and in 1 DPA and the EUSA.

Still unknown is whether the mayor of the City of Skopje will move to the first round.

LSDM candidate Petre Shilegov, following 96.79 per cent of votes counted so far leads against VMRO-based candidate. DPMNE, Koce Trajanovski with 50.27 just 36.01 per cent of the vote.

The 22 polling votes remain to be counted and will then be known whether Skopje will win mayor in the first round or have a second round on 29 October.
