At the Foundation Court in Pristina, the initial investigation hearing is held today in the criminal case against 21 defendants charged with Recak Massacre

According to the indictment, in 1998 1999, the defendants -- in co-ordination, as members of the former Yugoslavia Army, the “243 mechanized Medchanized”, the III Army, known as the “Corpus of Pristina”, as well as members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) -- have also conducted inhumane treatment, destruction of property, mass expulsion and ethnic cleansing of the civilian population.

The defendants first surrounded the village of Recak from countries called Pishat, women, and Çesta. Then, from the distance they promoted the village by military means, searched from house to house, and separated men from women and children, where they were forced out of the village, while the forbidden men executed”, said the Prosecutor's Community.

Prosecutorial investigations have proven that defendants have exercised physical violence against civilians, beating them with arms charges, kicks, wood, chains and other strong means.

About 20,000 rural civilians of Recak, Topill, Petrova, Kras, Mullapolc, Dremek had been expelled from their homes. /Periscope/
