FIFA corrects the final report: Paredes was not expelled with two yellows, but risks new condemnation

The Argentine midfielder was sentenced to red card after the final, following a tense clash between players of both countries.

Paredes was involved in an incident with Spanish football player Eric García, and with Gavin, when the situation between players deteriorated after the last whistle.

Initially, the report incorrectly noted that Paredes had received two yellow cards during the match and therefore was expelled, Periscope follows.

FIFA has clarified that it was an administrative error: the player had only received a yellow card during the game and then a red card directly after the meeting ended.

However, correction of the report does not save Paredes from the consequences.

His case will now be considered by the FIFA Disciplinary Commission, which will decide whether to have an additional suspension for its behaviour after the final.

The post-final clash has caused many reactions, as scenes between the Argentina and Spanish players were considered one of the most controversial moments of the tournament.
