Zelensky criticises fallout at Chernobyl ahead of London talks

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will host Volodymyr Zelensky in Downing Street later Sunday, along with French President Emmanuel Macro and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, for talks on European support for Ukraine.
Ahead of the meeting, Kiev officials said a Russian threat had hit a nuclear fuel storage facility spent near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in northern Ukraine.
They said a fire was extinguished and there were no injuries, while officials added that radiation levels remained stable. Zelensky called it a deliberate and evil Russian “ ”.
Separately, at least three people were killed in a Russian attack in a village outside Zaporizhiza in the country's southeast, authorities said.
Zaporizhja has been subjected to the ruthless Russian attacks recently, with at least two people killed there on Saturday.
The Russian attack on Chernobyl “partially destroyed” a spent nuclear fuel storage facility, according to Ukraine's state nuclear operator, Enerhoatom.
The operator said there was no injuries and that a fire in the building was extinguished, adding that radiation remained at a normal level.
The organisation also criticised Moscow for what it called a deliberate threat to nuclear security, in repeated words by Zelensky. / Periscope/
