Six Victims Raised by Shooting at Germany's Youth Centre

A serious event yesterday has shocked Germany, where six people were killed with firearms at a youth welfare center in the town of Stade, near Hamburg.

According to today's police report, the victims are four women and two men, all employees of the institution were shot inside the building. Five of them lost their lives at the scene, while the sixth victim passed away in the hospital. Authorities have warned that the balance of victims could increase.


After the incident, police arrested the top suspect and a woman with him, while at a stage of investigation, it was also reported on a third person detained, reports Albinfo.ch, the Periscope broadcast.

According to German media, the alleged author is a 45-year-old German citizen of Turkish origin. Preliminary investigations indicate he was involved in a dispute over the custody of his three-month-old daughter.

German authorities have stressed that there are no indicators for the event to have political or terrorist motives. According to police, it is allegedly a tragedy related to family conflicts.

During the police operation, a Mercedes-type car allegedly leaving people involved stopped after police opened fire on vehicles that disobeyed the order to stop.

The area was immediately surrounded by security forces, while forensic experts continue to examine the site. Police have indicated that there is no danger for citizens, while investigations into the full dawn of the case are under way.
