Morocco eliminates the penalty Netherlands and passes to 1/8 of the final

Morocco has secured a historic qualification of 1/8 of the World Cup final after it eliminated the Netherlands after the penalty execution in a very dramatic match held in Monterrey.

After 120 minutes of play, the challenge ended 1:1, while the Moroccan penalty proved more accurate with a score of 3:2. In the next phase, Morocco will face Canada, with the match scheduled to be played on July 4th at 7:00.

The meeting began with a first balanced part and with few concrete marking cases. Morocco was most active in the attack, while the Netherlands was held in play thanks to goalkeeper Bart Verbuggen, who reacted well in some dangerous situations, including the headshot of Ayuub Bouaddi and a remote attempt by Acraf Hakim.

And the Netherlands had its moments too, but goalkeeper Bono was safe and neutralized some dangerous attempts, including a kick of Mickey van de Ven before the break.

In the second part, Morocco increased pace and took control of the game. The best case went to Acraf Hakim in the 52nd minute, but his shot stopped from the bars after a beautiful action built by Azedine Owari.

However, the Netherlands took advantage of the 72nd minute. After a quick action, Wout Weghorst assisted for Cody Gakpo, who carried out with an exact shot of 1:0, celebrating the goal with high emotions.

As the match drew to a close, Morocco managed to equalize in the extra minutes. Oussama Talbi crossed from the left wing, while Issa Diop stood up on defense and marked with his head for 1:1, bringing the challenge forward.

In the extra 30 minutes, Morocco was very close to the crash, but Ishmael Saibari was stopped by an extraordinary reception of Verheugen in the vicinity. Without change, the winner was imposed by the penalty.

The penalty series was very tense. Some players scored, while others erred, keeping the race open until the end.

In the crucial series, Bono hosted the last penalty of the Netherlands, while Ishmael Saibari carried out the decisive blow, giving Morocco a major qualifications in the 1/8th phase of the final.
