How was Germany eliminated from the World Cup after penalty by Paguai?

Paraguay has secured the qualifications at the next phase of the World Cup after defeating Germany in penalty shootings in the match for the 1/16 final. After 120 minutes of play, the challenge was closed at 1:1, while the Paraguay team was more accurate than the white spot.

The Germans started meeting with an offensive approach. Coach Julian Nagelsmann chose a formation of two attackers, activating Kai Havertz in the role of hosting the game, while Deniz Undova was the most advanced player in the offensive department.

From the beginning of the match, Germany took control of the game and exerted constant pressure on its opponent. Paraguay focused mainly on protection by standing near its area for most of the first fraction. However, although the Germans dominated the possession, they failed to create clean cases, since the Paraguayn defense responded with discipline, precise intervention, and tactical fouls when necessary.

When the first part was expected to be closed without goals, Paraguay struck in the 42nd minute. Mathias Galarza arched from the right-hand side, while Julius Enciso took advantage of the lack of coverage in the area and with an exact blow of head sent the ball to the net, passing his team to the upper 1:0.

Germany reacted immediately after the break. In the 54th minute, Florian Wirtz tried with a blow to the gate, while Kai Havertz diverted the ball head by the first pole, achieving the draw goal of 1:1.

Neither the remaining regular time nor the continuation produced winners, with both teams failing to change the outcome.

The fate of the match was placed at the penalty, where Paraguay showed more accuracy and triumphed with a score of 4:3, causing one of the greatest surprises of this World Cup edition and eliminating one of the top contenders for the title.

Thanks to this success, Paraguay advances to the 1/8th phase of the final, where it will host the winner of confrontation between France and Sweden.
