Misetic reacts after the Special boycotted the report of British experts in The Hague, criticises also Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International

Hashim Thaci's lawyer, Luka Misetic, has reacted today after the Special Court has boycotted the Kosovo Ombudsman's report and British experts regarding the judicial process in The Hague.
Misetic has said that the Kosovo Ombudsman and the Chamber of Lawyers' Human Rights Committee of England and Wales are playing a vital role in providing guarantees for human rights.
The right to public judgment is a cornerstone of human rights jurisdiction. Public oversight provides institutional accountability, enabling the public to monitor prosecutors and courts so procedural and material violations can be identified and corrected”, Misetic wrote.
He has had criticism of prestigious organisations such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, saying that these organisations often change access to the international level and end up defending the institutions themselves, while constantly defending the rights of the accused.
Unfortunately, during nearly 30 years of my practice before international courts and tribulls, I have noted that large nongovernmental organisations, such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, which firmly defend the rights of the accused at the national level, often change access to the international level and end up defending institutions themselves. This systemic change leaves the defendants in isolated international processes without objective external monitoring that is needed to guarantee their rights”, Misetic has added further, Express reports.
Kosovo's <x0 Group and the Committee for Human Rights of the Chamber of Lawyers of England and Wales deserve appreciation for the fact that they are giving concrete meaning and real implementation of the right to a public judgment in the Thaci process and others” has ended Misetic.
