Kosovo customs uncovers goods with expired deadlines, lack of stock at customs depot

The fulfillment of conditions and obligations stemming from the authorization to preserve goods under customs supervision has been verified. After analyzing documentation and comparing electronic data with the actual state of storage, customs officials have found that some of the stored goods had exceeded the usage deadline.

It's 19,875 kg of plant-based food products that have been found to have expired. The Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV), whose officials have appeared at the scene and confirmed the state of the merchandise, ordering its annihilation in line with legislation in force.

Overdue-term goods have been removed from the customs depot and transferred according to relevant procedures in areas designated by Kosovo Customs until the end of the extermination procedures.

Also, during the physical inventory of the stock, a disagreement between the reported and the actual state has been found. Of the amount to be found under customs supervision, 5,450 pounds [5,450 kg] of goods were missing, which were not found in customs storage space during the check.

Kosovo's customs has initiated further administrative and investigative procedures to clarify the circumstances of this case and determine legal responsibilities, in line with the provisions of the Customs Code and Akciase.
