Who's gonna win the World Cup? BBC analysts make predictions

The World Cup will begin at Mexico's Azteca Stadium on Thursday and ends at the MetLife Stadium near New York City on July 19th.
Forty-eight teams will compete in the tournament, which will be played in 104 games in three countries over 39 days, including co-organists - Canada, Mexico and the United States, reports BBC, broadcast Periscope.
Who's gonna get the famous Golden Trophy this time? Who are the other main contenders?
Analysts and BBC Sport's television and radio football co-commenters have predicted what will happen over the next five weeks.
Who's gonna win the World Cup?
Alan Shearer: France, but there is a condition that comes with it - only if there is no internal dispute. With their ability in offensive positions, two or three big players will be left out of each match, so it will depend on whether they will handle it in the right way.
Danny Murphy: It is hard not to notice France by the power of their fire when you think of extra time in hot weather against tired legs.
Players like Rayan Cheri, Osmane Demble and Desert Doue can't all be titles, but they can change the game if they go in 70 minutes to 30 degrees of heat.
Olivier Giroud: For me, the two strongest teams are France and Spain. But will they meet each other in the finals? That will be the question, but I certainly hope France wins.
Wayne Rooney: England and Spain will reach the finals, and we hope England will win it.
Thomas Frank: France is up there of course, and Spain is also very clear as to how they play. This gives them a huge force, although I still doubt them a little because they rely on Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams as sides, and, if they don't, I'm not sure if they have enough individual qualities to do so at the end.
Together with Brazil, Argentina, England, and Portugal, they are the main contenders. Most people say it's France or Spain, but for me it's between Brazil and England... And I'm saying England!
Micah Richards: The way teams face humidity will play a major role in this tournament, so South American teams will be strong.
But I just think it's going to be a team that's really good at holding a ball and that's leading me to Spain. Argentina will get close, however, because of the way they work for Lionel Messin. I still think he can do something special too.
Steph Houghton: We hope it's England, but seeing other teams, France has many qualities on its team - especially in the attack areas.
Gael Clichy: France, Spain and England are three for me to do well. Spain seems to win everything in every age group, so they're probably in charge, but being French, I'm gonna try to make it happen.
- England. But it doesn't really bother me that much if I'm right or not. I just want to support my people and I want England to do this.
Martin Keown: Looking at the lot, there will be some absolutely fine quarterfinals if the favourites win their own groups, such as England against Brazil and Argentina against Portugal - or the Messy versus Cristiano Ronaldo.
Is this the hardest World Cup ever to be won? Maybe. I feel so open. My mind tells me the best team is France, my heart tells me it could be England.
Paul Robinson: The only thing stopping France from winning is France.
Pat Nevin: This is a guess, but England has a real chance. Together with France, they're my favorites and there's a race between the two who's gonna win.
I wouldn't be surprised if we had a victory this time from the left, and Morocco was the one who attacked me because I covered most of their matches when they reached the last quarter in Qatar. From what I hear, they could be better now than they were then - and they were brilliant then. They will also be accustomed to heat, which always helps.
Ellen White: Well, of course I want England to win it. That's what I want, but if that doesn't happen, then France will have a very good team.
Tony Pulis: It's funny that there are 48 teams and 40 matches more than last time. Fair play for all the countries that will participate, everyone will enjoy it.
I have Argentina, Brazil, France, England, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and Senegal as my quarterfinals. My choice to win? France.
Chris Sutton: Spain is an excellent team, but I've chosen France to win two last world Cups and I wasn't so wrong. I'm not going to change my mind now -- they didn't have much success in the last European Championship, but when I see their line of attack, I think it'll be hard to stop them.
In all, votes for who will win the 2026 World Cup:
France (9): Scott Brown, Gael Clichy, Rachel Corsie, Olivier Giroud, Danny Murphy, Paul Robinson, Tony Pulis, Alan Shearer & Chris Sutton
England (7): Thomas Frank, Joe Hart, Step Houghton, Martin Keown, Wayne Rooney, Sue Smith & Ellen White
Spain (1): Micah Richards/ P ECISCOPIA
