Massive clashes between Syrians and Kosovars in Austria, prison sentences pronounced

A violent clash between three Syrian citizens and three Kosovars in Austria's town of Graz has ended with severe sentences by the tribunal, following an incident that shocked public opinion.
The event took place in February at a gas station in the Lend district, where the six men were involved in a physical conflict in the middle of the day, while families of children and other innocent citizens were also broadcast albinfo.
According to reports by Austrian media, the cause of the conflict was allegedly a dispute involving a woman. The situation escalated with the use of fists, baseball sticks and other strong means.
The images of security cameras, presented during the trial process, showed that one of the Syrian indictees had entered the fuel station space by vehicle, forcing a Kosovar to leave quickly to avoid the crackdown.
One of the injured suffered fractures in the hole in his eye and, according to his lawyer, still risks losing sight.
The prosecution accused all six of participating in the clashes, while charges were also brought against the main authors of forced and attempted causing serious bodily injuries. All the accused, aged 21 to 28, had criminal precedents.
Judge Andreas Lance strongly condemned the conduct of those involved, stressing that weapons such as iron boxing or baseball sticks have no place in vehicles to be used against people.
According to the court ruling, the three Kosovars were sentenced to measures ranging from diversity to eight months in effective prison. Meanwhile, the three Syrians received the most severe sentences, from two and a half years to six years in prison.
The case has sparked numerous reactions in Austria due to the high level of violence and the risks facing citizens during the incident. /Periscope/
