What's left uncounted? CEC gives details

Only those who undergo this phase will be included in the count during the coming days.

CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has explained to Kosova Prejs what is left uncounted by the ballots belonging to these elections and for which the CEC does not offer preliminary results, as it did on June 7th by publishing the preliminary results for political subjects.

According to Elez, the uncounted ballots belong to the vote outside Kosovo, enabled in diplomatic representation and through mailboxes, conditional voting at 52 polling and voting of persons with special needs enabled through mobile teams.

“Until the Communist Counting Centres is continuing to verify the results of political subjects from the completed forms in the polling, for which the preliminary result has been presented, and the counting of votes of MPs, whose outcome is progressively reflected, the ballots belonging to certain types of votes outside regular locations have yet to be counted. It's about voting ballots in 30 diplomatic representations where 22 thousand and 414 citizens have voted, ballots from mail voting in 23 mailboxes from which more than 85 thousand and 700 cases of supposed balloting have been withdrawn, ballots from the conditional vote, where 8 thousand and 751 voters and ballots from individual-needs voters have registered 3 thousand and 144 voters”, Elez said.

Prior to their counting, the CEC will make verification of the validity of these ballot papers. According to Elez, only those who go through thisʹtest will be involved in the counting process and therefore in results.

Pre-counting ballot ballots to diplomatic representation, balloting by mail, balloting by bail, and persons with special needs, the CEC is taking certain actions. In the QNR, the assessment of the alleged package balloting from voting outside Kosovo is under way to prove that they were sent by registered voters. Also, in the CNR, scanning the list of voters used at regular locations, voting on persons with special needs, and voting on diplomatic representation will take place. The goal is to compare the data and calculate the eventual cases of double voting”, Elez explained.

Currently, the CEC is conducting only verify of the alleged package of balloting belonging to the vote by mail. According to CEC data, in the last 24 hours more than 7 thousand verified packages have been approved 7,153, meanwhile only 142. The most obvious reason why these packages have been rejected is because, in 114 cases, a document with unique data is missing, which the registered voter accepts by the CEC. According to the CEC, accurate data for each of these types of voting will be provided at the end of the process. /Periscope
