Energy alert, two days after meeting in the Alliance: Gender pledges unblocking American Gas project banned by Kurti

The Alliance's candidate for prime minister, Ardian Djind, has accused the outgoing government of, as he has called it, a “economic and geostrategic crime” against Kosovo, blaming it for blocking the American Gas project and the drastic increase in the cost of electricity import.
Through a public post, Jean said he confirmed it. American Ambassador Annu Prattipati, that Kosovo has spent 735m euros on electricity imports over the past four years, presents evidence of the government's energy policies failure.
“What was officially confirmed by.d. American Ambassador Annu Prattipati is not just a frightening statistic, it is the living testimony to economic and geostrategic crime against the Republic of Kosovo”, Djind has declared.
According to him, the Alliance had originally seen the American Gas project as one of the biggest strategic projects for the country, which would transform Kosovo's national economy and security.
Djind has criticised the 2021 government's decision to block this project, saying Kosovo remained isolated and fully dependent on energy import from the region.
He has made it known that this attitude has been repeated to him even U.D. Ambassador Prattipati at the meeting held two days ago, stressing that support for American Gaz remains a central part of the Alliance's governing programme.
In his response, Djind has also cited the refusal of over $200 million grant from the US MCC programme, assessing that the consequences of this decision are being felt today by citizens and businesses through high energy bills.
He has warned that, if the Alliance takes the lead in the government, the immediate unblockment of the Skopje gas pipeline project would take place and Kosovo's involvement in regional natural gas projects.
Energy security is national security. The age of fraud and isolation ends on June 7th. Kosovo will return development and the sacred alliance with the United States of America”, Djind has ended.
