Development in LDK: Three branches demanded Obadiah's departure all that happened yesterday

Following the outcome of the June 7th elections, where the LDK was ranked third with 16.69 per cent of the vote, three branches of it -- Peja, Lipjan and the Second branch in Pristina -- demanded the resignation of President Lumir Abdjiku. They estimated that responsibility for the poor outcome should be taken over by the party's central leadership and that deep political and organisational changes are needed.
Abdixhiku responded to the branches of Peja and Lipjan, demanding Gazmend Mujarır and Imri Ahmeti's moral resignation. He said the LDK has had the worst performance in the very municipalities led by these branches, and named its demands as coordinated. Abdixhiku stressed that the question of confidence had addressed him in the LDK Assembly on 31 January.
Deputy Chairman Doarsa Kica-Jeli called for unity, saying the result requires reflection, but not public divisions. She stressed that the debate should be carried out within party structures and that responsibility for the outcome cannot remain in only one person.
Even Lutfi Haziri treated the clashes as normal for a democratic party. He said Obadiah's request and response will be considered in the LDK bodies, stressing that the main goal should be to restore the LDK as the first party in the country.
Meanwhile, former delegation Bessian Mustafa reacted with an emotional message, recalling the difficult LDK periods and calling for patience, sustainability and preservation of the party from new divisions.
Supporting Obadiah is also the chairman of the LDK branch in Ferizaj, Visar Azemi. He said the poor results in some branches cannot be disguised with public demands for the chairman's resignation. Azemi estimated that each branch must render account before its membership for the results on the ground and gave full support to Abdixhiku, as well as to the process of the LDK's <x0-> major reunification”. According to him, internal conflicts and personal agendas hurt the party at a time when citizens expect a serious alternative.
The mayor of the Istog municipality, Ilir Ferati, also came by Obadiah. He said responsibility cannot be sought only by the central level, without accounting for structures that have managed local branches and terrain. Ferati warned that establishing the practice to demand the president's resignation after any election process would weaken the LDK and undermine its political stability. He demanded that responsibility be equal for all and that debates be held in party bodies, not by public statements promoting division.
