Bedri Hamza answers to the American ambassador: Future prime minister to link Kosovo to American gas

The president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the candidate for Prime Minister, Bedri Hamza, has reaffirmed his pledge to link Kosovo with supplies of liquefied American natural gas (LNG), citing this as a strategic project for energy security, economic development and strengthening partnership with the United States.
Hamza said Kosovo should not miss the opportunity to become part of regional natural gas networks and ensure a more stable energy future.
“As Kosovo's next prime minister, I will preserve the project to connect Kosovo to American gas. Kosovo cannot continue to pay the price of ideological rejections and lack of vision. Every year we lose, our dependence on expensive energy imports and on foreign markets” increases, Hamza has declared.
He has stressed that for the Democratic Party of Kosovo strategic partnership with the US remains vital, necessary and irreplaceable, underlining that this has been and will continue to be one of the main pillars of PDK policy.
Hamza has estimated that Kosovo's connection to American gas would bring numerous benefits to citizens and the country's economy, including increased energy security, attracting new investments, reducing environmental pollution and creating energy conditions at more affordable prices for households and businesses.
He has recalled that in recent years alone, Kosovo has spent hundreds of millions of euros on electricity imports, while the lack of strategic investments in the energy sector has made the country more vulnerable to crises and fluctuations of international markets.
This is the time to act. Not after another crisis. Not after another winter at record prices. Kosovo must move forward, side by side with its biggest and most reliable ally: The United States of America” has finished Hamza.
