Trump distances negotiations with Iran from Obama agreement

Donald Trump has declared that the current negotiations for an agreement with Iran should not be compared to the 2015 nuclear agreement reached by former President Barack Obama.
In a post on social networks, Trump said that the possible deal with Iran “would be the full opposite” of the previous agreement, known as JCPOA. He called Obama's deal a <x2-catastrophe”, claiming it opened the way to Iran's nuclear weapons.
Trump also wrote: “I don't make such agreements! ”
What was the 2015 deal?
In 2015, the Obama administration reached an international agreement with Iran aimed at restricting Tehran's nuclear programme and establishing strict verification checks.
In 2018, during his first term, Trump withdrew from the agreement, calling it wrong and weak.
After the US withdrawal, Iran has increased its activity to enrich uranium, which has increased international tensions, CNN reports.
