Over 1,000 victims from France's extreme heat wave

Over a thousand people have died in France as a result of high temperatures.
The extreme weather has now included Europe and France as one of the countries facing record temperatures.
The National Public Health Agency in France has announced on Sunday that the number of victims due to heat has gone to over 1,000.
According to preliminary data, most victims are elderly persons, and according to the agency, the number is expected to increase, as records of the deaths registered in nursing homes and private residences are still being collected.
Record temperatures have caused dozens of victims in various countries, damaged infrastructure, cut power production, and put health systems under pressure.
According to scientists, the heat wave, which began on June 20th, is the worst ever recorded in Europe.
They have warned that the continent is warming faster than the global average due to climate change. /Periscope
