US suspends Ukraine's peace negotiations effort

The United States has temporarily halted their engagement in mediating efforts between Ukraine and Russia, as no progress has been achieved in the diplomatic process for ending the war.
The statement was made by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said Washington was among the few parties that had direct contact with both Moscow and Kiev.
We were the only ones with whom the Russians and Ukrainians were willing to talk, so we got involved. Unfortunately, this did not produce results. This is reality”, it says. Rubio.
He stressed that the United States will return to the negotiations process only if circumstances and the dynamics of negotiations between the warring parties change.
“If anyone else wants to take over this process, please, with pleasure”, he added, hinting that Washington is open to accessing other international actors.
The temporary suspension of American efforts comes at a moment when the war in Ukraine continues without clear signs of an imminent peace agreement.
