Subscribe of voters from the diaspora: Over 21,000 applications in two days

Kosovo Central Election Commission spokesman Valmir Elezi has indicated that the period of voter registration outside Kosovo is continuing, which started May 6th and ends on May 17th 2026.

From the approved applications, Elez says 2,284 citizens are registered to vote physically in diplomatic representations, 239 to vote through the mailbox in Kosovo, while 6,266 to vote via mail from abroad.
He has announced that the voting process abroad will be organised at 48 diplomatic representations, with a total of 70 seats, of which 33 embassies and 15 consulates. The maximum number of voters who can register for physical voting is 66,450.
This restriction applies only to the vote on diplomatic representation, while voting through mail remains unlimited. In the event of reaching the maximum limit in a representation, applicants will be directed to choose alternative modes of voting via mail, according to application time principle”.
Likewise, the CEC has set a minimum threshold of 50 registered voters for organising the vote in a diplomatic representation. If this number is not reached, physical voting in that representative will not be organised and voters will automatically pass by the post.
According to the CEC, citizens registered for voting by mail will be sent packages with balloting to their addresses, as practiced in previous election processes.
