Rrustem Thaqi elected new Kosovo Judiciary Council leader

The Kosovo Judiciary Council on 6 votes for, has elected KDR leaders Rrustem Thaqi.
His mandate will be three years old and will start today.
His counterCandid, Besnik Bislimaj, received five votes, reports EO, broadcast Periscope.
Eleven members participated in the vote, out of them six votes were for Thaci, meanwhile five for his counterCandidate, Besnik Bislimaj.
As in the past competition, there were two same candidates, Besnik Bislimaj -- judge by the Court of Appeals and the Thaqi Rrustem, judge by the Supreme Court.
Otherwise, the two candidates did not give speech before the vote, having presented their visions in the past process.
Initially, the Kosovo Judiciary Council (KGJK) on 12 March announced the competition for new leaders, which was open until March 26th 2026. But, on 30 April, the election of the chairman failed after the two candidates received five votes, so the contest was resurfaced.
The latest leader's mandate has kept the judge from the ranks of Supreme Court judges, Albert Zogaj. /Periscope
