Red Brian raises concerns about the State Law: Article 31 approved by Serbian List VV could influence Kosovo demographic structure

Blerim Kuci, the candidate for MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo, has reacted sharply to the Law on Citizenship, naming Article 31 as harmful and with long-term consequences for Kosovo.
Kuci has declared that the Vetevendosje Movement and the Serbian List have adopted Law No. 10/L-023 for State, stressing that this law could be passed even without the support of the Serbian List, as according to him, the VV was in coalition with other non-communal communities.
According to Kuci, the main problem lies with Article 31 of the law, which envisions that the Republic of Kosovo recognises the right to citizenship of all citizens of its own h - RSPJs, who have been permanent residents of Kosovo on January 1st 1998, as well as their direct descendants, regardless of their current settlement or citizenship.
This article could enable Kosovo's citizenship even for persons who have been involved in criminal or paramilitary activities during the war, raising concerns about demographic and political influences in the country”, Red writes.
Kuci has warned that this law, according to him, could bring Serbia-controlled demographic inflammation “, potential for electoral manipulation, as well as opening the way for numerous property claims.
“Unjustified. Figurative”, he wrote, adding that if he gets the citizens' trust as an MP, his first move will be to initiate an intervention for discussing and changing this law.
