Police in Ferizaj alert citizens of fraudulent SMS: Do not click suspicious links, bank accounts are jeopardised

Kosovo police have raised the alarm for increasing cases of fraud through phone messages (SMS) in the Ferizaj region, calling on citizens to be fully careful to protect their financial data and tools.
According to Ferizaj Regional Police Directorate's announcement, numerous citizens have reportedly accepted false messages through which they are warned that their bank accounts will be blocked unless they take immediate action.
“After their completion, unauthorised persons manage to access bank accounts and illegally withdraw financial means”, police say.
Police have appealed that citizens do not click on unknown links accepted through SMS or emails and never share sensitive data like PIN-kode, passwords or verification codes.
Likewise, authorities remember that banks never require an update of data through links on phone messages. For any doubt or uncertainty, citizens are advised to directly contact their bank.
Police have urged citizens that if they suspect they have fallen victim to fraud, report the account's deadlock and report the case to the police immediately. / Periscope/
