Khamenei injured outside the public eye, but still shaping strategy

American intelligence services estimate that Iran's wounded supreme leader, Ajothallah Mojtaba Khamenei, is playing a central role in determining Tehran's stance on a possible deal with the United States, at a time when the country is under great military and diplomatic pressure.
According to US intelligence estimates quoted by CNN, Khamenei and his narrow circle are directly involved in negotiations decisions with Washington, but power structure in Iran remains fragmented after months of conflict and military blows.
The report stresses that, despite internal tensions and divisions, Iranian leadership is still trying to determine its strategy both in war and diplomacy, while international and American pressure continues to increase.
At the same time, American intelligence sources estimate there are no signs of a imminent collapse of the Iranian regime, despite continued conflict and military blows in the region.
Analysts say the current situation places Iran between two options: continuing military resistance or reaching a diplomatic agreement to reduce tensions with the US and its allies.
Otherwise, the U.S. has submitted a new proposal to the Iranian side to get safely after weeks of armed conflict.
