Date detected when Albania Intergovernmental Conference will be held - EU

A day earlier European Union member states gave the green light for the adoption of the IBAR's report on Albania, a development considered key to further advancing negotiations.

According to the EU's internal procedures, after IBAR's approval, the file is passed to COREPER II, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of Member States, where formal sanctions for the development of the 8th Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the European Union are expected.

Albania maintains candidate country status for the European Union since 2014, while the government's goal remains full EU membership by 2030. / A2 CNN.
