Even four days until the deadline for handing over candidate lists to KEC

The Central Election Commission has announced that the deadline for handing over candidate lists for MPs for early elections for the Kosovo Assembly is under way on 7 June 2026.
According to the CEC, from May 2nd to 12th 2026, all political subjects -- political parties, coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates -- must online submit lists with the names of MPs for the certificate of participation in the election process.
The list delivery process is being developed electronically through the CEC platform and the Office for Recording, Certificate and Financial Control of Political Subjects (ZRCKFSP).
Meanwhile, the CEC has indicated that registered political parties are considered automatically certified, while this application process includes only new political subjects such as coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates, which can apply for certificates from 2 May to 10 May 2026.
According to the CEC, handing over candidate lists for MPs is one of the main steps of the election process and the condition for participation in parliamentary elections.

The Central Election Commission reports that on 7 May 2026 the deadline for political parties registered in Kosovo has been completed to announce the CEC's participation or non-participation in elections and coalition formation.
These obligations applied only to 53 political parties currently part of the register of political parties registered in the Republic of Kosovo.
During the 7-day period (May 7th, 2026), the CEC has accepted the announcement of voter turnout by 22 political parties, non-participation by 9 political parties and 3 coalitions.
Political parties that have announced participation in the elections are 1. Social Democrat Party; 2. Kosovaki Nevi Romani Party; 3. Ashkali Social Democrat Party; 4. Za Slobodu Pravd of Opstanak; 5. From May 2nd and until May 10th, 2026, new political subjects (coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates) must submit the online application for certificates of participation in early elections for the Kosovo Assembly. Under the General Election Law, registered political parties are considered automatically certified, so this process applies only to new political subjects, which are coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates.
