Czech President: NATO showing teeth to Russia's provocations

Czech President Petr Pavel has called for NATO to expand “teeth in response to what he calls Russia's provocations on the eastern wing of the alliance.
His statements come at a time of increased tensions between the West and Russia, where Moscow has accused NATO European countries of allowing Ukraine to use their airspace to attack Russian territory, claims that have been denied by Western officials, which on the other hand say the incidents may also have been caused by Russian electronic war systems.
In an interview for “The Guardian”, Pavel has stated that Russia is deliberately committing provocative actions near lines that could activate NATO's Article 5, which envisions collective protection of the alliance, broadcast Clankosova.t.
He added that, according to him, Russian military officials even scoff at the cautious reactions of the West in such cases, stressing the need for a stronger and potentially “asymmetrical response” to Moscow.
Russia, unfortunately, does not understand the language of courtesy. They understand mainly the language of force”, Pavel said, adding that such provocative behavior has long been allowed and should receive a more determined response from the alliance.
