American congressers Keith Self and Suhas Submany come to Kosovo today

The visit, according to the organisation, is aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the United States of America and Kosovo, discussing regional security developments and supporting the rights of Albanians in the region.

Within the agenda in Kosovo, the delegation will hold meetings with representatives of the central institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as with the American and international security authorities at Camp Bondsteel. Also, meetings have been warned with representatives of civil society and media.

After the visit to Kosovo, congressers will stay in the Presevo Valley, where they will meet representatives of the Albanian National Council, Albanian political leaders and leaders of Presevo and Bujanoc municipalities. Focusing on discussions will be the rights of Albanians in the Valley, political developments and the challenges facing the Albanian community there.

The organisation stressed that the visit takes place in a period of increased commitment by the US Congress to security and stability in the Western Balkans, as well as to advancing Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integration.

Otherwise, Keith Self has presented a legal initiative to assess discrimination against Albanians in Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja at the American Congress this year. He has also publicly supported Kosovo's membership in NATO, calling it a key factor for regional stability.

Just three weeks ago, Self along with Ritchie Torres and Mike Lawler presented a resolution in the House of Representatives expressing support for Kosovo's integration into NATO.

In the end, Albanian For America expressed gratitude for the continuing engagement of American congressmen in support of the Albanian issue, regional stability and partnership between the American and Albanian people.
