105 thousand voters in office, June 6th voting starts on diplomatic representation

The process of voting abroad for early elections in Kosovo continues until June 6th, enabling around 105 thousand registered citizens abroad to vote through mail.

According to the Central Election Commission, most of the election package has already been distributed, while the physical vote on diplomatic representation will be held on June 6th on 30 diplomatic and consular missions. Germin's 2025 analysis, meanwhile, stresses that voting through mail remains the most dominant form of diaspora participation in the elections.

The voting process through early elections for the Kosovo Assembly, which will last until June 6th, is continuing. During this period, about 105 thousand registered voters abroad have the opportunity to exercise the right to vote through mail.

As for the progress of this process, during the early days of the election period, the Central Election Commission has managed to distribute almost the vast majority of the election package, which contains ballots that enable fellow villagers to vote by mail.

The “is running periods through mail that are worth about 105 thousand RKS citizens who have chosen this way of voting, while another 28 states that are registered to vote physically on diplomatic representation must wait for June 6th, when provided by law to organise voting in diplomatic missions of RKS”, said Valmir Elezi, KEC spokesman

In this context, voting through mail according to an analysis of voting by the 2025 diaspora from the Germin organization is emerging to be the most dominant form of voter turnout. The published report shows that Kosovo has made significant progress in accessing the diaspora to the election process, especially after the legal changes of 2023.

” We've been very loud to expand the possibility of the dissertial voting so that through the mail to pass ... in addition to increasing voting opportunities in 2025 there has been improvements in the process of registering voters abroad”, Lirim Krasniqi, Germin, stressed.

“MPJD will offer the entire infrastructure, both logistical and human resources, to have a problem-free vote in the diaspora” stated Ellis Bandalli, director of the Department for the Diaspora in MPJD.

As for the physical vote on diplomatic representation, this type of vote will be organised on June 6th in a total of 30 diplomatic representatives, of which 17 are embassies and 13 consulates, and the number of seats before them to open is 47.
