100 euros before the elections reacts with concern Oda American economics: Focus on investments that strengthen the private sector

The American Economic Oda in Kosovo has expressed concern after the government's decision on partitioning from 100 euros for several categories on the eve of elections.
It stressed increased dependence on the current financial support measures in response to economic challenges and inflation pressures.
While supporting vulnerable categories and preserving citizen purchasing power constitute important objectives, the American Economic Oda says temporary financial measures only provide short-term relief and do not address the necessary structural factors for sustainable economic development.
The American economic <x0.>Oda in Kosovo strongly believes that measures that focus mainly on stimulating short-term consumption risk producing limited long-term economic impact, especially in an economy like that of Kosovo, where a significant share of consumer growth translates into increased imports, not in the growth of domestic production and investment. Such measures also limit the availability of public funds for initiatives and investment with greater economic impact and broader and longer-term benefits”.
Instead of provisional and simultaneous payments, Oda said the focus should be shift towards investments in infrastructure and policies that strengthen the private sector ecosystem.
The strategic investments in transport and energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure, education and labor power development create conditions that enable businesses to expand their activities and increase productivity. Strengthening the private sector has a broader and more stable impact on society. A more competitive and growing private sector generates new employment opportunities, contributes to gradual wage increases and creates incentives for improving working conditions and investing in professional worker development. The growth driven by productive investments offers stronger and longer-term benefits than temporary consumer measures”.
The American Economic Oda in Kosovo reaffirmed that sustainable prosperity is achieved through policies that strengthen economic fundamentals, improve competitiveness and create an environment where businesses can develop and citizens benefit from sustainable employment and better living standards. / Periscope/
