Ukraine and Russia have again accused each other of violating the provisional ceasefire for Orthodox Easter, while both sides have claimed thousands of attacks and other violations have occurred.
With Russia's fight against Ukraine in its fifth year and preparations for the spring war campaign, Kiev and Moscow agreed to a 36-hour ceasefire during the most sacred Orthodox holiday. The truce began at midnight on April 12.
Both sides reported hundreds of incidents, hours before the ceasefire entered into force, originally set to apply on April 11th.
On the morning of April 12th, Ukraine's army said it had recorded almost 2,300 <x0-scale”, including the enemy's <x2-hitter activities, grants and drone attacks”.
The Ukrainian Army said there were no missile attacks, air bombs or attacks with kamikaze fears.
There were no missile attacks, direct air bombs or attacks with kamikaze fears, a Facebook military post said.
In the northern Sumi region, an ambulance was hit by a Russian threat overnight, officials said, wounding three doctors.
Russia has repeatedly targeted civilian targets, including hospitals, ambulances, firefighters during the conflict.
Meanwhile, Russia's Defence Ministry accused Ukraine of nearly 2,000 ceasefire violations during the previous 16 hours, including artillery and tanks, drone attacks and <x0 different types of ammunition” thrown out of the drones.
The Russian ministry said some civilians were injured in a Ukrainian-dance attack in the border region of Kursk. This claim could not be verified independently.
A similar ceasefire last year during Orthodox Easter was also conveyed with claims of thousands of violations.
As the war continues, the parties have held several round talks mediated by the United States. But negotiations have been interrupted, at a time when the American administration has focused on fighting Iran, and Russia has shown few signs that it is withdrawing from its demands for ending the war, which Ukraine considers unacceptable. / REL
