We're thinking of doing it as a joint co-operation,” told Trump Jonathan Karl from ABC News, when asked about the tariffs Tehran is setting for the passage into the strait. “It's a way to secure it and also to protect it from many other people. ”
It is unclear whether Iran would be open to this plan, while talks are expected to continue during the two-week ceasefire.
Earlier this week, Trump said he would prefer the US, instead of Iran, to impose a fee for ships passing into the Strait of Hormuz.
