“Trump doesn't argue with Leon: he begs him to withdraw to a language he can dominate. But the pope speaks another language, a language that refuses to be reduced to the grammar of force, security, national interest”, Father Antonio Spadaro said at X.
Leo, the first American pope, has become increasingly vocal in connection with the U.S. and Israel's war with Iran, condemning rhetoric and Trump threats against Iran's people last week as truly unacceptable “”.
Speaking to reporters Sunday evening, Trump said he was not a fan of Pope Leo. He stressed that he doesn't like a pope who's right to have a nuclear weapon.
Trump accused the Pope of serving the radical left. According to him, the Pope is weak in the face of criminality and very bad in foreign policy.
