The author of the attack was identified as 27-year-old Julius Cesar Jasso of Mexico, a state official told The AP is under condition of anonymity because it is not authorised to talk about the case.
Jasso later died of a shooting wound himself, authorities said, and security officials found a gun, a knife and ammunition. Jasso was the only assailant in the attack, the government of Mexico confirmed on Monday evening, broadcasting Clankosova.tv.
The local government said seven people were injured by gunfire. It was not known how other people were injured, but a number of people fell when the shooting began, some as they climbed into the pyramids. /Periscope
