US proposes military Eric Wendt as ambassador to Albania

According to a press release published on the White House official site, under the nominations and withdrawals sent to Senate, Wendy was nominated to lead the US diplomatic mission in Tirana.
“Eric Wendt, from California, to appoint the extraordinary and almighty ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Albania”, the White House announced. His appointment is expected to be reviewed by the US Senate, which must give final approval.
Currently, the US has no full mandate ambassador to Albania. Nancy VanHorn has been busy since 2024.
Who's Wendy?
Wendt has a long career of over three decades in the military and international security facilities. He is a retired United States Army officer with over 34 years of service.
He has served as commander of the NATO Special Operations Command, as well as held key positions in the Middle East and the Pacific region. During his career, Wendt was the US Security Co-ordinator for the Israeli-Palestinian Authority in 20172019, as well as chief of staff at the US Pacific Command.
Wendt graduated from California University in Santa Barbara and completed postgraduate studies in the field of national security at the Marine Passive School. / REL
