PDK: Haxhiu to appoint second PDK member

Democratic Party of Kosovo headship (PDK) member Betim Joschi has demanded that the Central Election Commission not be used for political purposes, calling on President Albulen Haxhiu's taskman, to appoint the second member of the PDK to the institution. According to Josit, Kosovo is on the verge of elections, and besides announcing the date, it was. The president should also sign the decree for the appointment of the PDK's second representative to the CEC.
He warned that not naming this representative would constitute violations of the Constitution and damage opposition representation in the institution responsible for organising elections, endangering their legitimacy as well.
Joci stressed that the 28 December elections have been held for the Kosovo Assembly, where four parliamentary groups have entered. Under those circumstances, according to him, due to the lack of six parliamentary groups, additional members in the CEC must be appointed by the largest parliamentary groups, namely, by the Vetevendosje Movement and the PDK.
“Aday, under such circumstances, since there were only 4 Albanian parliamentary groups after these elections in the Assembly -- that is, in the absence of sufficient number of 6 groups -- the additional members are appointed by the largest parliamentary groups, which in this case are the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic Party of Kosovo” -- he wrote.
He added that Kosovo needs free, fair and accepted elections from all political actors and citizens, not electoral processes, whose legitimacy could be questioned.
No one should use the CEC to achieve political goals through unconstitutional representation. No one can use the CEC for political gain, contrary to constitutional rule”, Djoshi wrote away.
