Obadiah: LDK does not support scenarios where three main positions belong to a party

LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku has stated that at the meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, it has not been discussed concrete names for president, dismissing speculations about possible candidacy and stressing that LDK will not support a solution where all key state positions belong to a single party. He said [...]
He said the discussion has only been about the current proposals of the Vetevendosje Movement, for which the LDK has provided negative answers.
I heard a lot of speculation yesterday. It's just speculation, it's not true. So we haven't talked about names, much less about my name. So we talked about two current proposals that are for the Vetevendosje Movement, and yesterday morning I have sent answers that LDK cannot support a scenario in which all three candidacys, all three state positions belong to a political party”, he said.
Abdixhiku indicated that during the next week there may be new meetings, but that there are currently no concrete developments in this regard.
“That's all the truth, no other developments. We haven't proposed a name, we haven't given anything, and we haven't been asked anything yet. That's the only truth. And over that truth, we'll see how the issues will take place further”, he said.
He confirmed that he has met with PDK chairman Bedri Hamza to discuss the positions regarding the issue, while he said AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj has refused the meeting.
I met with Mr. Hamza. I've had discussions to see their position. Mr Haradinaj has had the rejection of the meeting, with the right to say it is their position that refused to meet unless they complain afterwards. Because meeting is the prerequisite of normal human discussions. It seems Mr. Haradinaj has misunderstood my kindness to have communication, but if he doesn't meet, it's a big problem”, he said.
Abdixhiku stressed that there is no personal ambition for the presidential post, underlining that the process should be consensual and based on interparty principles.
No, I'm likely to submit myself because the president's case is a consensus issue. So we need to talk about principles once. Let's not confuse them. We're not talking about individual accommodation at this stage. So much less for such an important state position. So we're talking interparty interests. So whether it is possible that parties will be accommodated about a much larger agreement. If not, we prepare for new choices. But no, this is personal policy, please”, he said.
He added that an agreement for consensual president has not been reached so far, despite the passage of part of the constitutional deadline.
We found it. We spent about 30 days before the Constitutional Court's decision was scheduled and we failed to find a consensual president. First, then, we need to discuss principles. So what does that president look like? Should there be agreement between the LDK and Vetevendosje or other parties? So, if there's a deal, then there's names. If you think there are candidates, there's plenty. Every second citizen has been good at being president. I believe Vjosa Osmani was an excellent candidate”, he said.
