A month's detention for father allegedly sexually assaulting his daughter

The Constitutional Court in Gjakova has approved the request of Gjakova's Founding Prosecutor, assigning the detention measure a month to defendants M. S., due to the suspicion that he committed the criminal acts of sexual assault on his daughter.

According to the prosecution's request, among other things, it is suggested that on April 1, 2026, the defendant allegedly acted improperly and without his daughter's consent, using inappropriate content and making unacceptable demands.

The judges have announced that after the incident, the minor has notified the other parent and the case was reported to the police.

Because of the random sensitivity and protection of the privacy and dignity of the persons involved, especially of the minor, details are limited. The case is being handled by competent body”.

The trial of the preliminary procedure, Drilon Harachia, after holding the hearing, has estimated that legal conditions for the appointment of the detention measure against the defendants have been met. With this decision, defendant M. S., will be held in detention for a (1) month, which will be counted from the date of the arrest on April 07, 2026 to May 06, 2026”, the report said.
