From Kosovo's scenes to world screens, Kosovo actress Lyra Joci is writing history. When the Ripple series appeared on Netflix on December 3, 2025, millions of people around the world started watching it. Among the international cast of this production of Lionsgate Television, an Albanian name emerged and is Lyra Joci.
Ripple is a drama following eight episodes of four foreigners in New York City, Walter, Chris, Nate and Arya whose lives are tied to personal losses, creating an effect that unites their stories. The series is produced by Lionsgate Canada and extends to the global platforms of Netflix Soapcentral, reaching millions of viewers from Asia to Latin America.
Lyra Joci plays nurse Angela, appearing in six episodes of the series. This is not a small role, since Joce is part of the emotional image of the story, directly affecting the connections between the main characters.

Lyra Jocy didn't come to Netflix by accident. She is Kosovo-born Albanian actress, known to the Albanian public through roles in popular television series Our Coffee and Voice For Everything.
But the greatest pride came very early in her international career, where Lyra is also known for the movie Three Windows and A Varje, a Kosovo drama of 2014, directed by Isa Qosja. This film was chosen as Kosovo's official candidate for the Best Foreign Language Film category in Oscar in 2014, where it was the first time Kosovo had presented a film in this IMDb category. That moment brought international recognition for both Lyra's film and performance.
From Albanian series, to Oscar and already in Netflix.
Ripple's main role includes important names of American television, Frankie Fyson, known to The Wire and the Hannibal Francis; Ian Harding, dear by the public as Ezra Fitz in Pretty Little Liars; and Sydney Agugong, who will play Nani Pelekai in the Live-Action of Disney Lilo & Stitch Vviv Times. Among them, Lyra maintained her position with full professionalism.

What does that mean for Albanians?
In a world where platforms like Netflix dominate global culture, the presence of an Albanian actress, raised among Kosovo serials, tested by the Oscar cinema, is clear evidence that Albanian talent needs no one's permission to reach the highest level.
Lyra Jocy opened that door. Now he hangs if the others follow him.
Ripple, Season 1 is currently in Netflix.
