After weeks of speculation and the mystery of his state of health, the American Army through an X post says official sources from Tehran have confirmed that Iran's new supreme leader, Mojataba Khamenei, has passed away.
According to first sources, Khamenei failed to survive the wounds sustained during the bombings that hit his residence last month, the attack his father, Ali Khamenei, was also killed in.
His death is expected to cause a new crisis of legitimacy in Iran, as he had just been appointed as his father's successor at the helm of the Islamic Republic.
