Parliament Speaker Albulen Haxhiu has announced to MPs that she has received this confirmation today from Kosovo's Specialised Chambers Speaker Ekaterina Trendafilova.
In the announcement seen by the National newspaper, Trendafilova has provided any guarantees that he will deal with the concerns raised in the resolution.
“That's what I'm accepting from Resolution No. 10-001, approved on February 12th 2026, dealing with court procedures before the Specialised Chamber. The legal framework regulating Specialised Chambers, as approved by the Assembly of Kosovo, includes recognised international standards of fair judgment and powerful guarantees of judicial independence”, says Trandailov's report to Haxhiu, adding more details.
“All persons who appear before the Specialised Chambers, whether suspected or accused or victim, can benefit from the legal means envisioned within this legal framework, including sending cases into the Special Chamber of the Constitutional Court as the final authority for the interpretation of the Kosovo Constitution. The latter, as well as criminal panels, have consistently implemented the Constitution of Kosovo and followed the European Court for Human Rights jurisdiction, thus ensuring full compliance with established principles of international human rights. Also, I would like to use this opportunity to express my sincere congratulations on your last choice as the new Speaker of the Parliament. This honoured post carries important responsibilities within Kosovo's constitutional framework, and wish you success in implementing your new mandate.”, said in notification.
