Media jurist Butter Kosari has reacted sharply to the process of selecting members of Kosovo Radio Television and Independent Commission for Media, calling it a process that does not comply with democratic standards.

At an urgent media conference, Kusari said that the candidate level is an extremely low “ ”, adding that it is difficult to find professionals who deserve to be part of RTK's board.

I'm talking a little bit about the elements that have characterised the RTK board selection process that is under way, but also of KPM members which characteristics are typical when a ruling party aims to capture an independent institution. First to mention that the level of candidates who have run is incredibly low is hard to find professional where they deserve to be members of the RTK board, and that's because professionals don't believe the Vetevendosje Movement that will develop a fair, transparent and merithocracy”

Kusari also raised concern about the way the interviews are organized, suggesting that candidates for the RTK board were invited in late evening hours to present themselves this morning in the interview.

The second “was mentioned, that late last night candidates who came into the interview were invited to come to the interview today, that is a mockery of the important democratic processes this Assembly is called to develop. To invite a person who will serve three, four years at RTK around 22 p.m. to appear in the morning for interview is not serious, and ridicule with democratic processes”, she said.
