SPAK arrests one person, the group headed by it trafficked over 2.4 tonnes of drugs

According to the SPAK, investigations have revealed that the group organised drug trafficking from Albania to Montenegro with a destination of Germany towards Turkey, as well as from South America to EU countries.

Investigations have documented three episodes of drug trafficking, the seizure of 1,722kg of marijuana in Montenegro in November 2020, the 236kg of marijuana in Turkey in January 2021 and 475kg of cocaine at the Vlissingen Port in the Netherlands in November 2020.

The SPAK suggests that, under this prosecution, 14 other persons under investigation have been first identified, to whom security measures for allegations of involvement in criminal activity have been imposed.

According to SPAK, E.B. There has allegedly been a leading role, especially in organising the marathon traffic episode towards Turkey. With the ruling of the Special Court of July 3, 2026, security measures to him has been scheduled to arrest “in prison”, executed on July 6th by State Police.

The Special Anti-Corruption and Organised Crime Prosecutor (SPAK) has announced the arrest of an Albanian citizen identified with initials, E. BSuspected as leader of one of the structured criminal groups involved in international narcotics trafficking.

The investigations have been conducted in close co-operation with European justice authorities, the Department of Criminal Police, the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), as well as with the support of Eurojust and Europol.

A reasonable suspicion has been raised by investigations that the criminal group organised the trafficking of narcotics from Albania to Montenegro with a destination of Germany, from Albania to Turkey, as well as from South American countries to European Union countries. Part of the communications between suspected members have been obtained through chat analysis on the encrypted platform Sky ECC, administered by French authorities under international legal assistance.

Investigations have documented three episodes of international drug trafficking:

1. On November 3, 2020, Montenegrin authorities seized 1,722 kg of marijuana, transported by Albania with a final destination Germany.
2. On January 26, 2021, Turkish authorities seized 580 pounds [226 kg] of marijuana, launched by Albania towards Turkey.
3. On November 23, 2020, Dutch authorities seized 475 kg of cocaine To the Port of Vlissingen, a shipment from Ecuador.

From examination and analysis of administered data, the first identification of 14 (four) persons under investigation, previously prosecuted for the interests of this criminal proceedings has become possible: I.
