According to reports, the Iranian delegation is headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Arghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Meanwhile, the next-hour US delegation, expected to arrive, will be led by Vice President J. D. Vance.
Pakistani authorities have taken strong security measures in the capital, blocking key entrances to the Red Zone, where government institutions are located. The increased presence of police and military, as well as the establishment of numerous checkpoints, have significantly limited movement in the city.
Meetings are expected to take place at the Serena Hotel, one of the most popular hotels in the area, which is placed under full control by security forces. Visitors have been urged to leave, while preparations for the meeting are in the final phase.
These talks are held in a tense climate, while expected to impact regional developments and relations between the two countries.
