A 20-year agreement on the field aimed at supplying southern Europe with liquid gas from the US. Concretically, it is about creating the necessary infrastructure in Vlora for the import of gas, which will be imported by the US by ship and through the regasification process to become liquid gas.
The government also envisions revitalising the power centre in Vlora (where the plant will be established), the conversion of the existing thermal power plant, as well as increasing the new generation capacity of approximately 250MW. Construction of the Fier-Vlore pipeline is also envisioned, linking this centre with the national and regional gas transmission network, writes Report Tv.
