NASA has published the first photos from the historic flight of Artemis II's crew near the moon, including an amazing image of the Earth.

The picture shows the view of the crew of a <x0threthset” as the planet disappears beyond the lunar horizon and astronauts continue toward the far side of the moon, reports ABC News.

The first photo from the far side of the moon captured by Orion as the Earth sinks beyond the lunar horizon, April 6, 2026.

The picture has a strong resemblance to “Eartrise”, a photograph taken in 1968 by astronaut William Anders during the Apollo 8, mission which was the first mission of the crew to arrive on the moon.

The earth rises on the moon in a photograph known as Earthise, performed by Apollo 8, astronaut William Anders, on December 24, 1968.
