Pakistani Prime Minister Shephazaz Sharif has urged warring parties to respect a two-week ceasefire to allow diplomacy to reach the end of the war” in an X post.
He has also asked US President Donald Trump to extend his deadline for Iran by two weeks and for Iran to reopen Hormuz's Strait during that two-week period, Telegrafi broadcast.
A regional source said that “received some good news from both sides soon --” -- and that the discussions were conducted directly by Pakistani Army chief Feldmarschal Asim Munir.
The source added that an agreement is expected to close tonight.
The White House said on Tuesday that Trump has been announced for Sharif's proposed ceasefire and that “will come an answer”.
Trump said the United States is in “hot economics” on the fight with Iran, refusing to elaborate on the talks.
Pakistan, along with Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, has acted as a mediator among the warring countries.
“Diplomatic efforts for the peaceful resolution of the ongoing war in the Middle East are progressing steadily, powerfully and with the potential to lead to substantial results in the near future”, Sharif said in his post, in which he labeled American and Iranian officials and negotiators. /Telegraphy/
