Chief diplomat Glauk Konjufca at the UN Security Council has called on Serbia to recognise Kosovo's independence and not keep the region's integration into Euro-Atlantic structures hostage.
“We urge Serbia to face its reality and recognise Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, not holding the entire society of the region of such hegemony” hostage.
We are a peaceful state, we have never intervened in other states or in their internal policies. Despite Serbia's aggression and their hybrid threats to society and its institutions, Kosovo remains ready to normalise its interstate, neighbourly relations. However, barriers to peace and normalisation of relations remain Serbia, which is neither interested in normalising relations with Kosovo nor joining the EU. They try to deny our region the stability and full integration of this region into Euro-Atlantic structures”.
